Yvon Gabaud

I am a carpenter and welder, artist and composer of rap creole, poet, writer of theater piece. I was a very active person in socio-political and cultural activities. I am married and father of six children. At 32 years old I was attacked by a progressive neurological disease that placed me on a wheelchair. I spent more than 3 years closed with non-contact with the outside, I was ashamed to go out and participate in activities in a discriminatory society. When I met FONHARE, I armed myself with value in defending the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. Currently I work as an awareness officer on inclusion, universal accessibility and respect for the rights of people with disabilities.
