Dr. Ivens Louius
DPT, PT, OT, PPRI, CCVPR
Dr. Ivens is the Director & Founder of FONHARE, he is a clinician physical and occupational therapist. He received his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and occupational therapy from Catholic University Santo Domingo, DR. He is certified in Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation. He completed a Posgrade in prevention and rehabilitation of injuries from University CAECE, Argentina. Dr. Ivens attended University of Medical Sciences Arizona (USA) where he completed his doctorate Degree in physical therapy with Academic emphasis. He is passionate about the field of humanitarian work, community health promotion, public health. Dr. Ivens is an expert in infrastructure accessibility and inclusive practice. He usually says: “there is always a reason to do good” and “helping others is learning to be grateful by returning part of the blessings you have received”. That´s what I am doing, paying back by helping others!
Leslie Solage Louius
PT, CCVPR
Leslie Solage Louius is the Co-founder of FONHARE and she is Dr. Ivens’ wife. She is the Rehabilitation program Manager. She is a clinician physical therapist, she received her bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the Catholic University Santo Domingo DR, she is certified in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation in Argentina. She works with all pathologies, but her specialty is orthopedics and musculoskeletal. She is from Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. Leslie continues online training through FONHARE to increase her knowledge in this field to give more to her patients. Her motto is “to help while alive.”
She always says: “If I stop serving and helping, it's like if I stopped living”
Michel Marileine
Secretary & Administrator
Marileine is our Secretary and Administrator. She works for FONHARE since 2014. She is a very talented person, she cares about client and makes sure that FONHARE leaves no one behind in all intervention in the clinic and the community. People call her “good mom”.
ST-Fleur Jean-Ronald
PTA
Jean-Ronald is from Cap-Haitian. First, Jean-Ronald is certified as a computer technician. He joined our staff since June 2018. He is very humanistic and talented person. When he learned what the physiotherapists do via a cousin, he quickly enrolled at the institute of technicians in physical therapy where he graduated in December 2016 as a physiotherapist assistant. Because he thought through this profession, he could help many people. Now Jean-Ronald continues online training in this area through FONHARE to increase this knowledge to help more effectively. Now Jean-Ronald is doing a great job in FONHARE improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable.
Elda Louius Chaperon
Elda is certified as a nurse assistant but led by her love and passion for children with language disorders and adults with speech pathologies, she joined FONHARE´ staff in July 2015 and began her training in FONHARE by French and Belgium Speech Therapists volunteers to become a Speech Therapist Practitioner. After three years of training Elda conducts independent treatment and follow up for children and adults with all language pathologies conditions making FONHARE as the only rehab institution that offers consistent Speech Therapy treatment in entire Haiti. By her hard work a child with cerebral palsy who didn't speak at 7 years old started to speak after six months of treatment making the whole family happy, that´s just one case but there are many!
Yvon Gabaud
I am a carpenter and welder, artist and composer of rap creole, poet, writer of theater piece. I was a very active person in socio-political and cultural activities. I am married and father of six children. At 32 years old I was attacked by a progressive neurological disease that placed me on a wheelchair. I spent more than 3 years closed with non-contact with the outside, I was ashamed to go out and participate in activities in a discriminatory society. When I met FONHARE, I armed myself with value in defending the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. Currently I work as an awareness officer on inclusion, universal accessibility and respect for the rights of people with disabilities.
Thermeus Rosette
PTA
Thermeus Rosette is a physical therapist assistant graduated from the Institute of Technicians in Physical Therapy in Cap-Haitian. She started working in FONHARE since June 2018. Rosette is a very humanistic and talented person; she likes to work with challenged patients with difficult cases where she can prove her own capacity. She says: “the only reason I became a physical therapist is to help, that’s why I love my job in FONHARE”. Now Rosette continues online training in this area through FONHARE to increase her knowledge in the field to help more efficiently.
Sylvain Youse-Carline
Youse-Carline is the coordinator of community interventions such as Advocacy for Inclusion and Universal Accessibility Program, the Economic Empowerment Program for Vulnerable People and Gender-based Violence. She leads her programs towards emancipation of women and disabled people in the Haitian society overcoming all boundaries. With Youse-Carline these vulnerable groups are being training to defend their rights and step over.
Aimable Mireille
OT Assistant
Mireille is certified as a nurse assistant but driven by her love for rehabilitation she joined FONHARE staff in July 2015 and began her training to become an occupational therapy assistant. She works with patients with all conditions, but she is passionate to work with cerebral palsy children and the stroke victims adults. Her greatest satisfaction is to see a patient who could do nothing by himself and become completely independent by her assistance and all FONHARE´ staff.
Joseph Eliphene
Eliphene is our driver and messenger. Thanks to him, FONHARE knows almost where each patient lives, which gives us close ties with our beneficiaries. Also, It is thanks to him that FONHARE maintains the home care program for the most vulnerable people. Eliphene is always wise and smiling with all our users but we do not know why he is so serious in this photo - HAHAHAHA!
From the left to the right Francois Cléon, Sonia Pierre and Wislan are the community officers for FONHARE in the city of Terrier-Rouge for the advocacy for inclusion and the promotion of the rights of disabled people into society. They are Executive Members of the Disabled people Association of this city.

From the left to the right Mirlene Ménélus, Sévere Wisly and Altanise Richard are the community officers of FONHARE in the city of Fort-Liberty for the advocacy for inclusion and the promotion of the rights of disabled people into society. They are Executive Members of the Disabled people Association of this city.
The local staff is often assisted by volunteers and interns’ students from the United States of America and Europe.
